We designed the interface, developed a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for BrainTape, and delivered an effective landing page for an audio-orientated study tool. BrainTape is helping students study better and prepare for exams by helping them create personal audio-visual notebooks ready to be listened to wherever they go.

Process
Initially, the focus was on the application’s basic functionalities and the full MVP interface design was finished in the second part of the collaboration after the client gathered tester feedback based on the early design prototypes. The development started by being focused on the application’s structure based on the creation and replay functions for audio notes. This core functionality was crucial as it facilitates the learning process for students and helps them master certain subjects.
After the initial development phase and allowing our client to introduce the app to users and gather authentic feedback related to functionalities, our design team could tackle intricate design details, marking the start of the second phase. The Ul/UX team dedicated their efforts to crafting an app emphasizing simplicity and user-friendliness. Accordingly, special attention was paid to ease of use in the entire interface design of the application. We’ve designed an intuitive and user-friendly experience that allows students to create notes efficiently, quickly and easily access features, contributing to the overall learning experience without unnecessary barriers.
As a result, dozens of the client’s student testers have positively reflected on the modern and fresh design created.

Solution
We have provided advice to our client and used React Native within the Expo environment to create a cross-platform mobile solution for iOS and Android with the same codebase suitable for the client’s budget and needs. Due to the absence of backend support, we implemented the Redux store and Redux Toolkit to manage the app’s state and local data storage effectively. Firebase was also integrated as a reliable solution for storing certain audio content on the server, contributing to the overall stability and reliability of the application.
As mentioned above, students create audio-visual notebooks by speaking/recording notes and by pressing the ‘record button’ at the bottom of the screen. Each braintape note has a designated name field and associated category. By confirming the selection, the note is saved and the next one can be created.
